Ascabiol Lotion is a topical lotion for the eradication of scabies and body lice.What Ascabiol is used forAscabiol is used for the treatment of scabies and body lice.Your doctor or pharmacist may have recommended Ascabiol for another reason. Ask your doctor or pharmacist if you have any questions about why Ascabiol has been recommended for you.Ascabiol is not addictive.How to use AscabiolFollow all directions given to you by your doctor and pharmacist carefully.These directions may differ from the information contained in this leaflet.Ascabiol can be irritant. It is important that you perform a patch test prior to application.Scabies:The patient is lightly scrubbed all over in a hot bath to open up the burrows and immediately after drying thoroughly, is painted over the entire body from the head down, with a painter’s brush, followed 24 hours later by another hot bath. One treatment should suffice if the application is thorough. A second treatment after 5 days is required if there are still live mites present.Body Lice:The affected region is coated with Ascabiol using a painter’s brush followed 24 hours later by a wash with soap and water. Treatment may be repeated after 7 days if there is evidence of living lice. In severe cases this may be repeated 2 or 3 times.Ascabiol can be used in children when diluted in equal parts with water, or in babies over 2 months, when diluted with three parts water.If you do not understand the instructions on the bottle, ask your doctor or pharmacist for help.How to use AscabiolWhere to use itUse the lotion on infected skin as directed.Do not put it inside the mouth or any body cavities.Be careful not to get it in your eyes.If this happens, rinse your eyes with clean water and tell your doctor or pharmacist.Never swallow this medicine.
